The idea for MedTextra came about when David Gray’s wife was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Carers noted how little protection clothing provided chemotherapy patients had from airborne viruses with devastating consequences for them. Our research team set about finding a solution that would be effective, versatile, comfortable and stylish to wear. The team included scientists, engineers, test labs as well as a lead IP attorney with experience of over 900 patents granted. The result is MedTextra™.

MedTextra takes advantage of all of our body’s moisture to more effectively protect from virus, but going much further to allow for the incorporation of added benefits such as moisture management, cooling, odor control and sun protection. The result has opened the market potential far beyond our original idea, with applications possible in clothing, filtration, drug delivery and many more. MedTextra LLC is now looking for partnership or licensing opportunities to bring this to market.
